Who we are

HalalBKK (Thai Halal Food Map) is a Bangkok restaurant and mosque directory operated at www.halalbkk.com. We are not the Central Islamic Council of Thailand (CICOT) and we do not certify food.

What we collect

• Information you send us — name, email, message, restaurant name, address, phone, cuisine, hours, and description if you use Contact or List a kitchen.
• Usage data — pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser type, and referral source, collected by Google Analytics (tag G-TBZSDQ2D8Q).
• On-device data — restaurants you save or add to a trip are stored in your browser (localStorage). We do not receive that list unless you later email us about it.
• Location on Near me / Qibla — if you allow it, your browser shares coordinates with the page in your device only. We do not store GPS points on our servers.

There is no public user account. Staff login is limited to HalalBKK editors.

How we use information

• To publish and improve restaurant, mosque, and guide listings.
• To review kitchen applications before they go live.
• To answer messages and correct errors.
• To understand which pages are useful (analytics).
• To keep the site secure and working.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google’s gtag.js to measure visits. Google may set cookies and process data under its own terms. You can block cookies in your browser, use a tracking-prevention mode, or opt out with Google’s opt-out. Details are also on our cookies page.

Where data is stored

Listing and application data is stored with our hosting and database providers (including Vercel and Supabase). Servers may be outside Thailand. Analytics data is processed by Google.

How long we keep it

Published listings stay until we edit or remove them. Contact messages and unpublished applications are kept as long as needed to handle the request, then deleted or archived. Analytics is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to review a restaurant application you submitted. Email hello@halalbkk.com. You can clear saved restaurants by clearing site data in your browser.

If Thai PDPA or similar law applies to you, you may also have rights to access, rectify, or object to certain processing. We will respond as required.

Children

The site is a general travel directory. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page is the latest version.
